The Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) works with employers to help them leverage Greater Toronto Area’s culturally diverse workforce and connects immigrants to employment that fully leverages their skills and talents.
The organization hosted its annual Partner’s Meeting and Recognition cocktail at Telus House on Front Street, recognizing employers, community agencies and skilled immigrants who reached milestones in mentoring newcomers.
The event celebrated some of the city’s top employers and their milestones in mentoring. Organizations such as Scotiabank, reaching over 1ooo mentor matches in just over two years, as well as Telus, Denton’s, and Humber College reaching over 100 matches during their partnership with TRIEC, were awarded. Other categories included mentors who have mentored ten or more skilled immigrants and mentees who have become mentors.
