The MS Society is a national not-for profit providing services to people with multiple sclerosis and their families, and funds research to find the cause and a cure for this disease. The organization’s annual Queen’s Park Day was held at the historical Legislative Assembly building with a mandate of influencing government policy to support people living with MS and get political leader’s acquainted with the issues and priorities impacting constituents in their respective ridings.
Despite a very busy day at Queen’s Park including a visit by Prime Minister Trudeau and outdoor protests, The event hosted a very well attended lunch reception.
MS Ambassadors were able to have one on one meetings with over 30 politicians from the Ontario Legislature including Deputy Premier and President of the Treasury Board, Deb Matthews.
There was a high level of security present, and the OPP were very accommodating of MS Ambassadors with disabilities and offered tremendous support throughout the day.
